Robust.AI, founded in 2019, is an early-stage robotics and AI startup building autonomous mobile robotic systems. The company is led by veterans in robotics, AI, and business, with a mission to create smart, collaborative, robust, and genuinely autonomous robots.
As a Robotics Validation Engineer, you will be a hands-on engineer responsible for testing and validating mobile robotic systems. Your primary responsibilities include:
• Execute and automate tests in both simulation environments and on physical robots to verify system behavior under real-world constraints
• Develop and implement testing methodologies to evaluate navigation, perception, and control systems across varying operational conditions
• Establish robotic performance benchmarks and metrics that quantify system capabilities
• Conduct systematic evaluations of how different subsystems perform under stress, edge cases, and real-world scenarios
• Document, analyze, and summarize test findings in clear reports that inform engineering decisions
• Collaborate with robotics, AI, and controls engineers to identify failure modes and validate fixes
• Contribute to ensuring product quality and reliability before deployment
This is an individual contributor role focused on the validation pipeline. You'll work directly with hardware and software, bridging simulation and real-world testing. The role requires hands-on technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to think systematically about test coverage and robustness.
