Rhoda AI is building generalist intelligent robots with a full end-to-end stack spanning hardware, firmware, software, and foundation world models. The company has raised over $450M and is scaling manufacturing while advancing robotics research.
As a Robotics Test Engineer, you'll design and build the validation systems that ensure robots perform reliably across diverse real-world operating conditions. You'll work at the intersection of hardware, firmware, and software to create automated test frameworks, hardware-in-the-loop environments, and system-level validation infrastructure that uncover issues early and accelerate development.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining automated test frameworks that improve validation coverage and reduce manual testing effort across hardware, firmware, and software
- Building scalable hardware-in-the-loop and system-level validation environments that accurately represent real-world conditions
- Identifying, reproducing, and resolving complex multidisciplinary failures before they impact product milestones
- Maintaining traceability between product requirements, test execution, and validation results
- Generating high-quality performance, reliability, and characterization data that informs engineering decisions
You'll need 3+ years of test engineering, robotics, mechanical, or electrical engineering experience; proficiency in Python and/or C++; hands-on experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and communication protocols (CAN, SPI, I2C, UART); and familiarity with laboratory equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters). Strong systems-thinking, debugging, root-cause analysis, and communication skills are essential. Experience with automated test frameworks, Linux environments, real-time operating systems, hardware-in-the-loop testing, or CAD-based test fixture design is a plus.
This role offers high ownership in a small team where you'll shape validation methodology, work across the full robotics stack, and directly influence product quality and shipping confidence.
