Aescape is a New York-based physical AI and robotics company that has developed intelligent, precision bodywork systems powered by real-time body mapping, advanced robotics, and proprietary software. The company partners with leading fitness, hospitality, and wellness environments including Equinox, Life Time, Marriott, Hilton, Four Seasons, and others. You will own the end-to-end reliability and manufacturing test program for Aescape's complex robotic mechatronic systems, spanning from engineering validation testing (EVT) through design validation testing (DVT), production validation testing (PVT), and into mass production. This includes defining test protocols, writing test specifications and standard operating procedures, managing test fixture development with suppliers and contract manufacturers, and coordinating testing across Aescape's HQ reliability lab, contract manufacturer facilities, and third-party labs. Key responsibilities include maintaining and developing the HQ reliability lab with environmental and life testing capabilities aligned to standards such as MIL-STD-810, IEC 60068, IPC, HALT/HASS, and others. You will lead failure analysis on parts and assemblies, working with Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Engineering teams to drive issues to root cause and implement corrective actions. You will also project manage test fixture builds and coordinate test implementation at contract manufacturers and key suppliers, ensuring test data is promptly uploaded, reviewed, and triaged. You'll sit within Operations, working closely with Quality, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Engineering teams. The role requires approximately 10% international travel to contract manufacturer and supplier sites. Required qualifications include a BS in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Test Engineering, or related discipline with a minimum of 5 years of reliability and test engineering experience in hardware product environments (robotics, consumer electronics, or similar). You must have strong Python proficiency for test automation, data parsing, and analysis; hands-on lab engineering skills including specifying and operating reliability test equipment; and statistical rigor in sampling, distributions, control limits, capability studies, and accelerated-life models. Experience with contract manufacturers and suppliers, 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks), and LabVIEW is highly valued.
