Anduril Industries is seeking a Robotics Software Engineer to own Verification & Validation (V&V) across the Omen autonomous platform. You will design and build automated testing infrastructure for mission-critical software, including Software-in-the-Loop (SITL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HITL) environments that exercise autonomy, hardware interfaces, and full-system behavior before deployment. Key responsibilities include architecting and maintaining automated test infrastructure from unit tests through system-level validation; designing SITL and HITL test environments that exercise autonomy, hardware interfaces, and end-to-end mission scenarios; writing tests for hardware interfaces including UART, CANbus, and serial protocols; developing tooling and test cases to evaluate autonomy behavior against operational scenarios; building integration tests that validate interactions across software, firmware, and hardware components; and collaborating cross-functionally with mission software, autonomy, hardware, and platform teams to catch defects early. You will also contribute production code alongside the tests you write, growing into mission software ownership over time. The role includes up to 25% travel for real-world testing and validation in operational environments, and troubleshooting issues uncovered in test and field operations. Required qualifications include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field; at least 2+ years of hands-on production C++ experience; demonstrated ownership of automated testing for production software (integration, system, regression suites, CI infrastructure); hands-on experience with SITL/HITL test environments; experience writing software and tests for hardware interfaces; and working knowledge of V&V practices for embedded or mission-critical software. This is an ideal fit for engineers with backgrounds in integration testing, SDET, embedded systems integration, or validation engineering who want to grow into full mission software engineering roles.
