Anduril Industries is seeking a Robotics Software Engineer to design, develop, and optimize software for autonomous robotic systems. You will focus on sensor integration, networking, and multi-agent coordination, working with cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, and sensor fusion technologies.
Key responsibilities include developing mission-critical software for networking, sensor integration, and autonomy across robotic platforms. You will integrate diverse sensors such as cameras, LiDAR, and IMUs to enable perception, localization, and navigation. You'll design and optimize distributed communication networks and message-passing frameworks for multi-robot coordination, collaborating cross-functionally with hardware, systems, and manufacturing teams to seamlessly integrate software into physical systems.
The role involves real-world deployment, with travel up to 25% to test, debug, and deploy systems in operational environments. You will contribute to the entire software lifecycle—prototyping, implementation, testing, and deployment—while optimizing system performance for latency, battery consumption, and resource utilization. Troubleshooting and resolving issues in deployed systems is essential to ensure reliability and operational success.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics. You need 2+ years of hands-on experience developing production-grade software in C++ and/or Rust, with knowledge of distributed communication networks, protocols, and message standards. Proven ability to integrate sensors into robotics systems and systems-level thinking to navigate complex codebases are essential. You should be passionate about building software with direct mission-critical impact and willing to travel up to 25%.
Preferred qualifications include experience with motion planning, perception, localization, and multi-agent coordination; proficiency in Software-in-the-Loop simulation; embedded systems and hardware integration experience; performance optimization techniques; Python and real-time operating systems; AI/ML applications in robotics; and active or prior U.S. Secret clearance.
