Anduril Industries is seeking a Robotics Software Engineer to join the Maritime Division, a team building next-generation autonomous underwater and surface vessels. You will contribute to the design, development, and deployment of perception and planning systems for autonomous maritime platforms including Dive-XL, Dive-LD, Copperhead, and Seabed Sentry. In this role, you will own end-to-end delivery of vehicle perception and planning capabilities, including systems analysis, sensor selection and integration, perception architecture, motion planning, health management, behavior analysis, and simulation infrastructure. You'll implement trusted safe navigation, collision avoidance, and situational awareness systems that balance complex constraints in multi-stakeholder environments. Your work will span sensor processing, perception, tracking, motion planning, anomaly detection, and vehicle interfaces. You will leverage advanced techniques in computer vision, sensor fusion, and machine learning to enhance autonomous capabilities. You'll conduct thorough testing and validation of algorithms through simulation and real-world experimentation, evolving data analysis tooling as needed. Collaboration is central: you'll work with software engineers, mechanical engineers, and systems engineers to ensure effective integration and testing. You'll also mentor junior team members and help build team cohesion. Travel to co-locate with end-users and partner teams is expected up to 20% of the time. You must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance. Required: Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent; proficiency in C++ and/or Python; familiarity with autonomous vehicle sensors (radar, sonar, LIDAR, cameras); demonstrated knowledge of computer vision, sensor fusion, SLAM, motion planning, or machine learning; senior-level experience delivering a robotic system; capacity to act as technical owner for systems including stakeholder engagement, requirements definition, roadmap management, design, implementation, and sustainment; ability to define and implement robust validation strategies; mentoring capability. Preferred: Experience with autonomous systems in ground, air, maritime, or space domains; simulation tools (Gazebo, Unity, Unreal Engine); knowledge of safety standards and certification for autonomous systems.
