Anduril Industries is seeking a Robotics Software Engineer to join the Maneuver Dominance team, which develops multi-asset autonomy systems for military applications. In this role, you will design and implement behavior trees and state machines that orchestrate teams of autonomous robots, enabling them to work effectively together on complex mission outcomes.
Key responsibilities include developing high-level robotic behavior control software, writing integrations between autonomy stacks and robotic peripherals (sensors, flight controllers, radios), and coordinating teams of autonomous platforms across networked systems. You will solve problems spanning networking, autonomy, systems integration, and robotics while making pragmatic engineering tradeoffs. The role requires cross-functional collaboration with autonomy, hardware, systems, and platform teams to ensure Anduril products work seamlessly in the field.
You will contribute across the entire software lifecycle—from prototyping and implementation through testing and deployment. Field work is expected, including up to 25% travel to test, debug, and deploy systems in operational environments. This is a hands-on position where you'll analyze and resolve issues in deployed systems to ensure reliability and operational success.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics. You must have at least 2+ years of hands-on production-grade software development in C++ and/or Rust, with proven experience designing behavior trees, state machines, or comparable frameworks. Strong systems-level thinking, the ability to navigate complex codebases, and pragmatic engineering execution are essential. You must be eligible for a US security clearance.
Preferred experience includes multi-agent coordination, motion planning, perception, localization, and familiarity with open-source behavior frameworks. This role is ideal for engineers passionate about building mission-critical software with real-world impact in defense technology.
