Gecko Robotics is seeking a Robotics Software Engineer to architect and develop production-grade robotic manipulation systems for industrial inspection applications. You will design and evolve ROS2-based control frameworks and motion planning systems for 6-axis articulated manipulators (FANUC, Yaskawa, ABB) operating in real-world manufacturing environments. Your responsibilities include developing perception-driven motion planning using visual and sensor inputs, designing closed-loop inspect-analyze-rework workflows, optimizing robotic inspection throughput within active manufacturing lines, and owning system-level integration between the robot control stack, industrial hardware, and Gecko's inspection software platform. You will support system deployment and validation in production environments, working across software and hardware boundaries. The role requires 5+ years of production robotics software development in C++ and/or Python, strong ROS2 experience, expertise with motion planning frameworks (MoveIt2), and proven ability to integrate perception systems (vision, 3D sensors) into robotic workflows. Preferred qualifications include hands-on experience programming industrial 6-axis articulated robots and familiarity with PLCs and industrial communication protocols. Gecko's robotic systems combine wall-climbing robots, industry-leading sensors, and an AI-powered data platform to help critical infrastructure organizations ensure availability, reliability, and sustainability of their assets. The company is office-first but offers flexibility; most team members work in-office five days per week with some flexibility available. Gecko offers competitive compensation, company equity, 401(k) matching, comprehensive health insurance, parental leave, professional development, and flexible PTO. US security clearance eligibility is required due to government project involvement.
