Salary: USD 174,000 - 222,000 / annual

Lab37 Robotics is developing and deploying robots designed for direct-to-customer food production, revolutionizing the food industry through innovative robotic solutions. The company is building cutting-edge products to meet evolving industry needs in the rapidly growing online food delivery market. In this role, you will take ownership of the on-robot software stack, spanning from low-level sensor interfaces and motor control through higher-level state machines to cloud data management and offloading. You'll work collaboratively with firmware, mechanical, electrical, and front-end engineers to ensure cohesive system functionality. Key responsibilities include: - Building and maintaining the on-robot software stack, including implementing support for new hardware modules, triaging failures on existing modules, and implementing state machines to manage incoming orders - Collaborating with culinary and product teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions - Integrating with delivery service providers to receive orders and provide status updates - Creating and integrating on-robot control panel interfaces - Contributing to code reviews and architectural decisions - Writing design documents and playbooks Required skills: C++ and Linux proficiency, familiarity with documentation tools (wikis, markdown), and strong collaborative communication abilities. Desirable experience includes ROS or similar robotics frameworks, Vue3 and TypeScript for frontend development, Docker, Protobuf, Python, Terraform, Git, embedded Linux distributions, simulation environments, and data analysis tools (SQL, Superset, Jupyter notebooks). The role is based in Pittsburgh with five-day-per-week onsite work. Compensation includes base salary of $174,000–$222,000 annually, equity awards, performance-based bonuses, comprehensive health insurance, 401(k), flexible time-off policies, and parental leave.
