Apptronik is a Series B human-centered robotics company developing AI-powered humanoid robots (Apollo) to support humanity across manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and beyond. You will join the platform software team responsible for the core systems that power next-generation general-purpose robots designed to operate safely and effectively in human spaces.
In this role, you will contribute to the evolution of scalable, modular software architectures that support Apollo's full robotics stack. Key responsibilities include:
• Developing and implementing platform software solutions that scale across next-generation robotic systems, with a focus on modularity and performance.
• Participating in architectural discussions and providing technical input to define the platform roadmap, ensuring safety and scalability.
• Collaborating closely with hardware teams on integration tasks, validating new components, and ensuring reliable communication across the stack.
• Profiling complex software stacks to evaluate compute resource requirements and identify optimization opportunities in resource-constrained environments.
• Porting and optimizing established software frameworks to new hardware platforms while maintaining system stability and reliability.
• Conducting performance benchmarking and profiling to identify bottlenecks and ensure the platform scales effectively across diverse hardware configurations.
• Adhering to software engineering best practices, including code reviews, documentation, and continuous integration.
You will need strong C++ proficiency in Linux environments with experience in system-level, performance-sensitive programming. Hardware integration experience is essential—familiarity with low-level drivers, communication protocols (CAN, EtherCAT), and sensor data handling. You should be comfortable performing resource usage analysis (CPU, memory, latency) and have experience with distributed systems, APIs, and containerization tools (Docker/Kubernetes) in robotics or embedded contexts. A collaborative mindset and ability to bridge hardware constraints with software requirements are critical.
Minimum 4+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on system-level software development. Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
