Lead Bank is a banking infrastructure platform enabling fintechs to offer compliant, programmable financial services like payments, lending, and digital assets at scale. The company operates as an API-first, developer-focused partner bank with offices in San Francisco, Sunnyvale, New York City, and an FDIC-insured bank in Kansas City.
The Risk team identifies and manages risk across the business, overseeing strategic third-party partners, enterprise risk governance, and engagement with federal and state bank examiners. This role sits at the center of the Risk Program's operating rhythm, serving as connective tissue between risk, compliance, and senior leadership.
As Risk Reporting & Innovation Manager, you will lead execution of an AI-first strategy for managing data, risk insights, and strategic objectives. You will own governance materials and committee requirements, consolidate metrics into a single source of truth, and translate program priorities into actionable strategic roadmaps for leadership.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own and refine the AI-adoption strategy within Risk, partnering with program leaders to leverage AI best practices for dashboards, agents, and tools
- Support enterprise data warehousing, ensuring data is accessed, sanitized, and maintained using industry best practices and automation
- Develop and execute capacity planning frameworks across Enterprise Risk teams with regular senior management updates
- Apply data-driven approaches to centralized OKR tracking and progress reporting, managing change management across key initiatives
- Develop program-level KPI reporting including monthly operational overviews
- Own sequencing and prioritization of risk program initiatives, ensuring cross-functional projects run on schedule with clear dependencies and regulatory alignment
- Build risk dashboards for fintech partnership reporting using automation and AI-native capabilities
- Benchmark against industry trends and emerging regulatory guidance, translating findings into prioritized roadmaps
- Prepare and deliver governance materials for risk committees using AI and best practices
- Serve as key connection point between Risk, Compliance, and senior leadership, surfacing issues and maintaining momentum on high-visibility initiatives
- Coordinate cross-functionally with data stakeholders for bank examinations, audits, and compliance projects
- Occasional travel to Kansas City and other Lead locations as needed
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in risk management, compliance, or related governance/reporting function, ideally in banking, fintech, or Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS)
- Proficiency with generative AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Glean) to improve operational efficiency and decision-making
- Track record of building or owning centralized reporting frameworks, KRIs/KPIs, or executive dashboards consolidating data from multiple stakeholders
- Proficiency in SQL and relational databases with experience in BI/visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker)
- Experience developing or contributing to strategic roadmaps and translating priorities into structured, trackable plans
- Working understanding of banking regulations and supervisory guidance relevant to enterprise risk governance (OCC, Fed, FDIC)
- Highly organized, self-motivated, able to manage multiple concurrent deliverables with minimal supervision
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to senior leadership and committees
- Proven ability to bring structure and clarity to ambiguous or evolving governance and reporting needs
