Salary: USD 125,000 - 195,000 / annual
Voyager Technologies is a defense, national security, and space technology company developing mission-critical solutions for protecting lives and advancing frontiers. This RF Engineer role is part of the Products line within the Engineering department, reporting to the VP of Product Design.
You will be responsible for designing and validating RF subsystems for space and defense applications. Key responsibilities include:
- Deriving and documenting RF subsystem requirements (upconverters, downconverters, power amplifiers, low-noise amplifiers) from system-level specifications
- Producing RF schematics and guiding PCB layout based on designs
- Validating designs through testing and troubleshooting of complex RF circuit boards and assemblies
- Developing RF test procedures and performing validation when needed
- Supporting manufacturing of complex PCB assemblies and resolving integration issues
- Providing system integration and test troubleshooting support
- Meeting aggressive schedule deadlines
- Supporting design review gates with documentation
- Participating in customer meetings and technical proposals
- Evaluating contractor and subcontractor proposals for technical feasibility
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering (or Master's with RF emphasis), 6+ years of RF hardware and schematic design experience from UHF to Ka-band (preferably in Altium), and hands-on experience designing LNAs and power amplifiers up to 10W at Ka/Ku-band. You should have strong PCB layout skills, RF test equipment experience, and the ability to multi-task across multiple projects. Preferred qualifications include knowledge of space environment design considerations (EMI/EMC, radiation, thermal, shock, vibration), programming skills (Python, C/C++, MATLAB), and experience with EDA tools like AWR/MWO or Genesys/ADS.
