Impulse is seeking an RF Embedded Software Engineer to own the design, testing, and delivery of flight RF software systems for space missions ranging from low earth orbit to Mars. This is a hands-on engineering role that bridges RF systems and embedded software development.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and implement RF software communications requirements on a mission-by-mission basis
- Develop RF software architectures and bring up RF systems for flight
- Create algorithms for RF digital signal processing and calibration
- Design and optimize RF system control algorithms to improve performance and reliability
- Collaborate with ground software teams to develop and test satellite-to-ground data pipelines
- Work with cross-disciplinary teams to define mission-critical RF requirements
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field
- 2+ years of experience developing software for wireless systems in critical applications
- 2+ years writing embedded C/C++ code
- Hands-on lab experience with RF equipment including spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and software-defined radios
- Proficiency in testing and troubleshooting complex mixed-signal boards
- Proficiency testing RF components (power amplifiers, phase-locked loops, low-noise amplifiers, mixers)
- Strong understanding of RF signal modulation and demodulation
