Fluidstack is building civilization-scale compute infrastructure for AI at unprecedented speed and scale. The Modular team is transforming data center construction from a traditional build-on-site model into a factory-manufactured product, compressing timelines and improving quality through production-line discipline. In this role, you will engineer and validate the controls systems for modular data center units as they move through the manufacturing line in Phoenix. You'll own the complete controls stack—PLCs, BMS integration, sensors, and I/O—from panel design through field termination. Your responsibilities include: - Execute point-to-point checkout, loop checks, and first-article functional tests on units coming down the line, documenting results to a standard that can be handed off with confidence - Walk the manufacturing floor daily, catching wiring and I/O issues at the station where they occur and dispositioning them immediately rather than escalating - Provide real-time controls support to the factory floor, answering RFIs same-day and engineering fixes into the next production revision - Close the feedback loop between manufacturing and design: translate what the line discovers about wiring, logic, and BOM issues back into updated drawings and specifications so defects don't repeat - Own controls support through production ramp, staying engaged until systems run reliably You should have hands-on experience engineering or commissioning controls systems—PLC, BMS, or industrial automation—ideally from integrators, BMS contractors, or data center commissioning firms. You've done point-to-point checkout and loop checks on real panels at volume, not just reviewed them on paper. You're comfortable on a shop floor or production line, and dispositioning nonconformances in the moment is familiar work. You iterate fast without losing configuration control, and you write logic then stand at the cabinet proving every point. Bonus skills include PLC programming (Rockwell, Siemens), data center BMS platforms, panel and wiring standards, or instrumentation depth. Fluidstack operates with extreme ownership, full autonomy, first-principles thinking, and velocity. You'll work at high intensity on one of the most interesting infrastructure problems of our time.
