M3SIM is seeking a Research Scientist / Senior Mechanical Engineer to develop advanced computational mechanics and finite element analysis (FEA) solutions. In this role, you will design, implement, and validate engineering simulation algorithms that combine classical mechanics with modern AI/ML techniques. You'll develop high-performance software in C++ and Python, working at the intersection of simulation technology and artificial intelligence to transform engineering workflows.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and optimizing computational mechanics and FEA solutions
- Designing and validating engineering simulation algorithms from first principles
- Applying AI and machine learning techniques to engineering problems
- Writing high-performance, parallelized code in C++ and Python
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams of engineers, researchers, and software developers
- Contributing to product innovation and technical strategy
- Producing clear technical documentation, reports, and presentations
You should have a strong background in mechanical engineering, applied physics, or a related field with demonstrated R&D experience. Required expertise includes proficiency in modeling and simulation techniques (FEA, CFD, multibody dynamics), numerical methods, data analysis, and software development with emphasis on performance optimization. Experience applying AI/ML techniques is essential. A Master's or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline is preferred, though relevant industry or research experience is strongly valued.
