Anduril Industries is seeking a Research Scientist to develop state-of-the-art algorithms and software for mission-critical defense applications. You will work in a small, innovative team to create mathematically principled solutions to complex information science problems, with a focus on real-world deployment rather than academic publication alone.
Key responsibilities include:
- Contributing technical direction and expertise to guide team strategy
- Developing advanced algorithms in applied mathematics, controls, signal processing, and machine learning
- Prototyping state-of-the-art solutions in an agile environment
- Implementing high-performance software across tactical systems and web applications
- Using modeling, simulation, and flexible compute clusters to validate technology benefits
- Engaging directly with government and industry customers to ensure mission success
- Communicating complex technical concepts to both expert and non-expert audiences
Anduril's Lattice OS platform integrates thousands of data streams into real-time 3D command and control centers, powered by autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology. The company is committed to delivering cutting-edge capabilities to the military in months rather than years.

You should demonstrate strong academic excellence and practical experience in applied mathematics (differential equations, linear algebra, optimization), engineering (controls, estimation, signal processing, machine learning), scientific computing (software design, algorithm implementation, optimization), and probability/statistics. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. U.S. Top Secret SCI security clearance eligibility required.
