LatchBio is a rapidly scaling biotech AI platform working with 5,000+ scientists and 150+ R&D labs to deploy biological AI agents across pharma, biotech, and academia. The company has recently hit 60 employees and eight-figure revenue, with growth doubling every couple of months. As Research Partnerships Lead, you will own the complete partnership lifecycle—from initial outreach and relationship building through scoping, sales, pilot execution, and customer success. You'll work directly with Co-Founder and CEO Alfredo, who leads the partnerships team, and your work will shape strategic conversations and direction across the organization. The ideal candidate combines technical depth with business acumen. You should understand AI fundamentals (gradient descent, reinforcement learning, modern architectures) and have hands-on experience in biotech or life sciences—either through research, industry roles, or deep familiarity with how scientists work. You don't need a PhD, but you must be able to have substantive conversations with biologists and AI researchers about their work and challenges. You're relationship-focused rather than transactional, with high agency and self-direction. You'll identify blockers, unblock yourself, and drive significant progress independently. You're comfortable with ambiguity, willing to roll up your sleeves, and see this role as a stepping stone toward eventually leading a team. Day-to-day responsibilities include org mapping and landscape research, proactive outreach to key labs and researchers, designing bespoke partnerships around genuine customer needs, and ensuring partner success post-deployment. You'll operate with significant autonomy and direct CEO access. Compensation includes a competitive base salary with commission-based upside. The role is strictly in-person in Mission Bay, Monday–Friday, with flexible hours around core meeting times. The company offers premium health coverage (Blue Shield Platinum, 100% covered), free meals, and a waterfront office. Note: typical weeks run 60+ hours.
