Isomorphic Labs is an AI-driven drug discovery company applying frontier machine learning to accelerate scientific breakthroughs and develop life-changing medicines. The company was launched in 2021 to advance human health by building on the Nobel-winning AlphaFold system, combining drug discovery expertise with machine learning to model complex biological phenomena and design novel molecules.
The Toxicology team operates at the intersection of preclinical development and AI, redefining how safety is assessed from the beginning of drug discovery. As Research Leader (Toxicology), you will own the safety assessment strategy for specific drug discovery and development projects from inception through regulatory submission. You will work closely with drug design platforms (small molecules and biologics) to drive optimization of the company's assets with an AI-first approach, and guide development of the AI predictive toxicology platform to increase probability of success and reduce animal testing.
Key responsibilities include: designing and implementing project-specific safety assessment strategies with an AI-first approach for small molecules and biologics; designing screening cascades and mechanistic experiments to elucidate and mitigate safety risks; providing technical expertise to develop SAR understanding of toxicology liabilities; defining regulatory safety assessment packages; communicating integrated risk assessments to stakeholders; and authoring toxicology sections of regulatory documents. You will maintain close relationships with the CRO network (all wet-lab work is outsourced) to ensure high-quality, timely data generation and oversee data generation campaigns designed to support AI-based toxicology model development. You will also empower team members by sharing expertise, fostering continuous learning, and championing a culture of inclusion and professional development.
The role requires 3 days per week in the London office (currently Tuesday, Wednesday, and one additional day).
