Isomorphic Labs is an AI-driven drug discovery company applying frontier machine learning to accelerate scientific breakthroughs and develop life-changing medicines. The company was launched in 2021 to advance human health by building on the Nobel-winning AlphaFold system, combining drug discovery expertise with machine learning to model complex biological phenomena and design novel molecules. The DMPK and Quantitative Pharmacology team, part of the Preclinical Development group, accelerates delivery of high-quality drug candidates by developing innovative, AI-first solutions. This role leads DMPK strategy across drug discovery projects, ensuring drug-like properties are central to the company's drug design engine while shaping state-of-the-art ADME and toxicology predictive models. As Research Leader (DMPK), you will drive DMPK strategy for drug discovery projects to deliver high-quality clinical candidates while using and contributing to optimization of computational and AI ADME models. You will collaborate closely with the Drug Design and Medical Research teams and Technology teams to provide scientific expertise and strategic direction, improving both the platform and its application to real drug design projects. Key responsibilities include: designing and implementing stage-appropriate DMPK strategies with an AI-first approach, integrating quantitative pharmacology and overall project strategies; designing screening cascades and mechanistic experiments to support project progression in a data-driven manner; integrating DMPK, PD, and toxicological data to extract decision-making information including dose and safety window predictions; defining quantitative pharmacology strategy in collaboration with Pharmacology Leads; optimizing use of company datasets to address fundamental DMPK questions; optimizing molecule design based on physico-chemistry and biotransformation knowledge; maintaining knowledge of state-of-the-art technologies and methods for human PK prediction; authoring DMPK sections of regulatory documents; and championing a culture of inclusion and continuous professional development. The company operates on a hybrid model requiring 3 days per week in the Cambridge office (typically Tuesday, Wednesday, and one additional day depending on team assignment). REQUIREMENTS: Essential: - PhD in Pharmaceutical Science, Pharmacy, Chemistry, or another relevant subject - 7–10+ years of professional experience in a DMPK role within biotech or pharma, solving small molecule DMPK-related problems in drug discovery with a track record of collaborative delivery of high-quality candidates - Practical experience developing DMPK and quantitative pharmacology packages to support early clinical development, including authoring and reviewing regulatory documents, ideally in oncology or immunology - Experience partnering closely with Preclinical and Clinical teams - In-depth knowledge of biotransformation - In-depth knowledge of PK modelling and scaling of ADME properties Nice to have: - Experience with peptides and other new modalities - Advanced knowledge of PK/PD modelling - Good understanding of machine learning techniques - Familiarity with Python and R
