Gridware is a San Francisco-based climate-tech company pioneering active grid response (AGR) technology to protect and enhance electrical grid reliability and safety. The company uses high-precision sensors and advanced analytics to monitor electrical, physical, and environmental aspects of the grid, enabling proactive maintenance and fault mitigation.
As a Research Engineer in Electrical Sensing, you will join the R&D team to solve challenging sensing and measurement problems with real-world impact on grid infrastructure. This is a hands-on role combining physics, experimentation, and data analysis to understand how grid sensor signals behave in real-world conditions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting applied research on electrical sensing and measurement systems
- Analyzing sensor signal behavior in field deployments and laboratory settings
- Identifying opportunities to improve sensing performance and accuracy
- Developing new sensing capabilities and measurement methodologies
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate research findings into product improvements
- Designing and executing experiments to validate sensing approaches
- Documenting research findings and contributing to technical publications
You will focus on measurement and applied research rather than traditional product design, working at the intersection of electrical engineering, physics, and data science. The role offers the opportunity to directly impact grid reliability and safety while working with cutting-edge sensing technology backed by climate-tech and Silicon Valley investors.
