MiraVista Diagnostics is seeking a Research and Development Associate II to join their diagnostic product development team in Indianapolis. In this role, you will design, develop, and execute research and development experiments under the supervision of the Project Leader, contributing to the improvement and development of diagnostic products. Key responsibilities include performing day-to-day experimental activities under GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) conditions with detailed documentation; planning experiments, evaluating and interpreting results, and designing subsequent experiments to achieve short-term development goals; executing both standard and novel experimental protocols with data analysis for product development; specimen processing, storage, shipping, and sample set preparation with proper documentation; general and preventative equipment maintenance and functional verification; and ensuring all work aligns with quality requirements. You will interact with staff across all departments and collaborate on technical matters with research staff at partner institutions. The role requires staying current on applicable scientific literature, participating in the Quality Program, adhering to safety SOPs, and reporting potential safety hazards. You must work productively and independently within an interdisciplinary team environment. Required qualifications include a B.A. or B.S. in Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or equivalent field. A minimum of 3 years of pertinent industry experience is preferred. You should have basic knowledge in microbiology, immunology, molecular biology, and biochemistry as related to infectious diseases; strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities; exceptional written and verbal communication skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office products; and the ability to adapt to changing priorities while managing multiple projects effectively.
