Botpress is a Series B AI agent platform built from the ground up for enterprise customer support, replacing legacy systems like Zendesk at scale across multiple industries and regions. We're seeking a Business Development Representative to join our growing sales team, reporting to the VP of Sales. This is not a role of mass outreach. Thousands of companies already use Botpress—many have signed up, built something, but never engaged with our sales team. Your first mission is to identify those with real customer support challenges and connect them with account managers. Your second mission is to prospect into our target accounts who haven't yet discovered us. You will often be the first human contact prospects have at Botpress. Your ability to understand support team challenges and clearly communicate our value will shape their entire experience with our sales organization. We're hiring with the explicit goal of developing you into our next account manager. If you perform well, the path forward will be clear, and we'll be transparent about what it takes to advance at each stage. Key Responsibilities: - Prospect into specific target accounts via email, phone, and LinkedIn with research-backed outreach - Analyze product signups, usage data, and inactive leads to identify teams with genuine customer support problems - Conduct discovery conversations to understand the real business issue (ticket volume, response times, cost per resolution) rather than just feature-matching - Qualify opportunities and hand off meetings to account managers with sufficient context for productive next conversations - Regularly analyze your activities, pipeline, and conversion rates; report in CRM - Share market feedback with marketing, product, and engineering teams—you'll often be first to hear objections - Test, measure, and improve your own messaging; we prefer experimentation over waiting for a pre-built process Requirements: - 2–3 years in a BDR, SDR, or full-cycle sales role at a B2B SaaS company, with demonstrated results in meetings booked or pipeline generated - Proven ability to build pipeline independently, not just work inbound leads - Curiosity, ambition, and desire to work in a fast-moving startup - Comfort engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders - Ability to clearly communicate product value and adapt approach across industries - Strong organizational skills, self-direction, persistence, and follow-up discipline - Comfort working in an environment where processes are still evolving; willingness to help build them - Excellent written and spoken English communication skills (role covers primarily North American market)
