Voyager Technologies is seeking a Reliability, Maintainability, and Safety Engineer to join the Lunar Systems team in Pittsburgh, PA. This hybrid role focuses on ensuring that space systems, launch vehicles, and ground operations comply with all regulatory requirements and safety standards. Key responsibilities include: • Compliance Management: Ensure adherence to safety and reliability standards and regulations, particularly launch license and range safety compliance. Evaluate vehicle and mission compliance with applicable technical regulations. • Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment: Conduct safety analyses including Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) to identify potential hazards and assess severity, likelihood, and risk levels. • Reliability Analysis: Perform reliability assessments on systems and components to predict failure modes and develop strategies to improve system reliability. • Design Review and Input: Collaborate with design engineers to incorporate safety and reliability requirements into new designs and modifications. • Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Investigate equipment failures to determine underlying causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. • Maintenance Strategy Development: Work with maintenance teams to develop proactive maintenance plans based on reliability analysis to minimize downtime and optimize asset performance. Required qualifications include a B.S. in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Robotics, or related field; minimum 4 years of relevant professional engineering experience; strong understanding of engineering principles and safety analysis methodologies; proficiency in FMEA, FTA, and RCA; excellent communication and collaboration skills; experience with CAD tools and reliability prediction software; experience with 14 CFR Part 450, AFSPCMAN 91-710, and/or ARP4761; experience with FAA, FCC, or US Air Force/Space Force regulatory bodies; and data analysis skills. Preferred qualifications include experience with space launch vehicle systems, flight test programs, operational space missions, and launch range operations at governmental and private spaceports.
