The Regulatory Surveillance Analyst role sits within the Managed Services team, which reviews trade and electronic communications (eComms) surveillance alerts for clients, conducts investigations to reduce regulatory risk, and works to enhance the Compliance product for market expansion. This is a hybrid position based in Montreal.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing eComms and trade surveillance alerts to identify potential market abuse, misconduct, conflicts of interest, and other regulatory violations
- Decoding trader terminology and liaising with front-office staff to understand complex trading concepts and communications
- Escalating non-standard communications or activities that suggest potential misconduct
- Staying current on regulatory and market changes to identify enhancements to surveillance controls and compliance frameworks
- Working autonomously on complex research and analysis projects that drive business goals
- Contributing to product design improvements by working with subject matter experts and cross-functional stakeholders
