Behavox is a data operating platform that helps multinational enterprises organize and act on enterprise data to manage risk, ensure compliance, and drive business growth. The company builds AI/ML-based solutions for financial services firms to detect and investigate market abuse, misconduct, and regulatory violations.
The Regulatory Surveillance Analyst role sits within the Managed Services team, which reviews trade and electronic communications (eComms) surveillance alerts for clients and works to improve Behavox's compliance product. You will analyze alerts to identify potential market abuse, conflicts of interest, and misconduct; liaise with front-office trading teams to understand complex trading concepts and "trader speak"; and escalate non-standard communications or activities that suggest potential violations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing eComms and trade surveillance alerts and conducting investigations
- Decoding trader terminology and communicating with front-office staff to understand trading concepts
- Identifying and escalating potential misconduct, market abuse, and conflicts of interest
- Staying current with regulatory and market changes to recommend enhancements to surveillance controls and compliance frameworks
- Working autonomously on complex research and analysis projects that drive business goals
- Contributing to product improvements that support expansion into new markets and client segments
You will work in a hybrid arrangement from the Toronto office, collaborating with subject matter experts and stakeholders across the organization to influence product design and strategy.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Deep knowledge of market abuse and misconduct in financial services firms
- Strong understanding of the regulatory landscape and ability to research regulatory guidance
- Familiarity with trader terminology, surveillance operating models, and governance frameworks
- Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical and research capabilities
- Demonstrated interest in Behavox's mission, marketplace, and technologies
- Ability to work proactively and autonomously on complex projects
