The Regulatory Compliance Manager will serve as a second line of defence (2LoD) compliance advisor, providing oversight across EU operations and advising on regulatory requirements and risks in a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise on regulatory requirements, compliance risks, and related controls, providing second-line challenge to business units
- Support development and continuous improvement of the compliance management system, including governance, regulatory mapping, horizon scanning, and training
- Monitor regulatory developments, assess business impact, maintain regulatory inventory, and support regulatory change implementation
- Analyse regulatory requirements and translate them into practical actions, policies, procedures, and guidance
- Create and challenge policies, procedures, and governance documentation, including management body papers
- Lead risk-based compliance monitoring, analyse findings, track remediation, and assess control effectiveness
- Support compliance risk assessments and evaluate effectiveness of related controls
- Maintain oversight of employee-related compliance domains including conflicts of interest, whistleblowing, and management suitability
- Collaborate with global Compliance teams and key stakeholders, including regulators, to ensure consistent standards and effective regulatory engagement
Requirements:
- Experience in a second line of defence compliance role within a bank, payment institution, regulator, consultancy, or law firm advising financial institutions
- Solid understanding of regulations and guidelines applicable to banks and/or payment institutions in the EU (e.g., EBA guidelines on internal governance and remuneration, SREP)
- Prudential regulatory expertise, including capital requirements under CRD/CRR
- Experience working with local and/or European supervisory and regulatory authorities
- Knowledge of risk and control management, including ability to identify compliance risks, assess control effectiveness, and recommend remediation
- Familiarity with compliance monitoring, oversight, or regulatory mapping
- Excellent analytical and drafting skills with ability to summarise regulatory expectations clearly
- Strong advisory and consultancy skills with ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical business guidance
- Integrity and high professional ethics to promote compliance culture
- Fluency in English
