Anduril Industries is seeking a Red Team Engineer to join the Discovery team, a group focused on incubating and maturing high-potential, software-defined, AI-native offerings across hardware, software, space, and cyber domains. In this role, you will serve as the adversary to Anduril's own systems, identifying wrong assumptions, unmodeled failure modes, and design weaknesses before they reach the field. This is a hands-on, deeply cross-functional position. You will embed with and pressure-test the work of Systems Engineering, Guidance Navigation & Control (GNC), Software, Hardware, Mission Operations, and Test Engineering teams. Your responsibilities include independently executing red-team designs and analyses, hunting failure modes, surfacing hidden assumptions, and stress-testing trade studies. You will reconstruct and independently verify others' work, develop analysis tooling and simulations to prove or break claims, and translate findings into actionable guidance that measurably improves system design. You must bring genuine hands-on experience designing, building, and analyzing real engineering systems—not analysis-only background. Your builder's intuition will be converted into rigorous, quantitative adversarial analysis that changes decisions. Because Anduril's systems span multiple domains (space, missiles, air, autonomy, sensors), you are expected to reason across all of them and follow problems wherever they lead. You will communicate complex results, including strong visual presentation of data, to engineers, leadership, and stakeholders. Required qualifications include an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance, hands-on track record in both designing/building and analyzing real engineering systems, demonstrated ability to find problems others miss (failure analysis, adversarial review, independent verification), proven track record of independently owning and executing deliverables, proficiency with physics-math scripting (MATLAB, Simulink, Python + numpy/scipy), and strong engineering background in aerospace, dynamics & controls, GNC, systems, or similar fields. Preferred qualifications include 4+ years in a relevant science/engineering field, hands-on design and analysis experience across multiple domains (space systems, missiles/missile defense, air vehicles, GNC, sensors and sensor fusion, radar, EW), formal red-team, T&E, IV&V, mission-assurance, or failure-analysis experience, comfort moving fluidly between domains and physics regimes, exceptional proficiency with physics-math scripting, familiarity with domain analysis tools (STK/Astrogator, AFSIM), and experience with genetic algorithms, machine learning, AI, and reinforcement learning.
