Thunes is hiring a React Software Engineer to join a small, senior frontend team building a payment platform for virtual world publishers. You'll own frontend work across multiple codebases: an internal admin tool (React, Vite, Chakra UI, Apollo Client), embeddable payment widgets (Next.js, Tailwind CSS, Server Components), and publisher-hosted transaction pages (Next.js, SSR, multi-tenant). The platform handles real money, compliance requirements, and real users—touching invoicing, payouts, KYC verification, and fraud detection. Day-to-day responsibilities include shipping features and fixes across TypeScript/React codebases, writing unit tests (Vitest + React Testing Library) and e2e tests (Playwright), working with GraphQL APIs backed by Go microservices, running the full local stack via Docker Compose, maintaining test coverage, and collaborating on frontend architecture decisions. Required qualifications: shipped React applications, TypeScript proficiency, testing discipline (Vitest/Jest, React Testing Library), component library experience (Chakra UI, MUI), and Linux shell proficiency. Bonus skills include payment/fintech UI experience, Playwright, Docker, Python, Go, GraphQL (Apollo Client), RBAC/permission systems, multi-tenant/white-label products, and monorepo experience (Turborepo, Nx). The role offers small-team impact on genuinely interesting domain problems (payments, compliance, multi-currency, fraud detection), a modern stack with active migration, and a strong engineering culture with enforced coverage thresholds, pre-commit hooks, CI gates, and deployment on merge. Not a fit if you need pixel-perfect designs handed to you, chase framework trends over shipping, or are uncomfortable with legacy code patterns.
