We're seeking a React Native product engineer to join our lean engineering team. This role is measured by what you ship and whether it works—not by spec adherence. You'll own features end-to-end: from concept through architecture, code, tests, launch, measurement, and iteration. You take responsibility for outcomes after launch, not just code merges.
Key responsibilities include shipping and releasing features in our React Native/Expo app across iOS and Android, managing App Store and Play Store submissions, handling over-the-air updates, push notifications, deep links, offline behavior, native module integration, and platform-specific UX. You'll work across the full stack: Postgres data models, Node.js/TypeScript APIs, and React/Next.js web interfaces, ensuring you're never blocked waiting for someone else to expose an endpoint.
You'll exercise product judgment—pushing back on requirements that don't hold up, proposing smaller versions to test ideas faster, and determining what's worth building. You'll add instrumentation and observability to measure success, bring data to planning conversations, and sweat the details: speed, polish, empty states, error states, and considered UX.
You'll partner cross-functionally with Product, Design, Customer Success, and the executive team, and directly engage with creators and subscribers. The team leverages state-of-the-art agentic AI infrastructure; you'll use AI workflows constantly, reviewing AI-generated code, directing edits, and ensuring correctness before production. You actively integrate new AI tooling for code review, tests, analysis, and full features.
Required: 6+ years shipping production software with meaningful ownership of product decisions; 3+ years focused on native mobile app development; React Native/Expo strongly preferred (native iOS/Android a plus); App Store/Play Store deployment experience; strong product and UI/UX intuition; deep fluency in TypeScript, Node.js, Next.js/React, and modern CSS; strong data modeling and SQL (Postgres preferred); experience with automated tests (Jest, Playwright/Cypress) and CI workflows; familiarity with AWS serverless (Lambda, SQS, RDS); clear communication across engineering, design, product, and stakeholders; adaptability in fast-paced startup environments.
