Salary: USD 149,240 - 231,200 / annual
Veeam, the Data and AI Trust Company, is seeking an R&D Developer to own significant features in the K10 product, which specializes in backup and recovery of Kubernetes applications, databases, and storage systems. You will design, build, and test cloud-native software components with high code coverage, developing deep expertise in modern distributed systems and cloud-native technologies.
Key responsibilities include designing and testing distributed systems using languages like Golang, Rust, and/or C++; writing and maintaining data formats for the data movement and storage engine; building new tests and analyzing reports from product benchmarks, robustness, scalability, and performance regression testing suites; debugging applications using tools like GDB and improving the debugging/metrics toolchain; and contributing to the cloud-native open-source community.
You will work on secure networked systems using TCP, HTTP, and/or gRPC; automate development tasks with Bash and Python; develop software across Linux, macOS, and Windows; and identify, fix, and prevent security vulnerabilities including injection attacks, encryption issues, access control problems, overflows, and insecure design patterns.
The role requires a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Networking, or a related field, with advanced coursework or project experience in distributed systems, debugging tools, secure networked systems, scripting automation, and secure software development. The position permits telecommuting with applicants able to reside anywhere in the US while reporting to the Kirkland, WA office.
