Raven StealthCo is a well-funded, stealth-mode biotechnology company incubated by RA Capital, focused on next-generation oligonucleotide-based therapeutics targeting tissues beyond the liver, muscle, and kidney. The company is building a platform to deliver oligonucleotides with high precision to previously untargeted cells, focusing on "undruggable" genes alone or in combination with validated targets. Headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the company aims to create transformational therapies for diseases with multi-billion-dollar market potential, with longer-term ambitions in healthy aging. The Scientist, Conjugation Chemistry will report directly to the Director of Oligonucleotide and Conjugation Chemistry and will be a key contributor to the discovery-stage platform development. This lab-based role involves technical planning and production of antibody/peptide-oligonucleotide conjugates for the targeted delivery platform. Key responsibilities include: - Define and implement reproducible technical protocols to develop oligonucleotide conjugates for biological evaluation - Develop conjugation strategies (cysteine, lysine, glycan, site-specific, etc.) to yield stable and well-characterized conjugates - Design and incorporate linker chemistries to optimize pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties - Assist in internal lab build-out, procuring and utilizing equipment for conjugation and purification - Support analytical scientists in developing characterization methods (HPLC, MS, etc.) - Collaborate with protein engineers and biologists to ensure timely preparation of conjugates for biological evaluation and contribute to study design - Contribute to intellectual property development around oligonucleotide conjugates The ideal candidate is a hands-on scientist capable of generating high-quality conjugate materials efficiently while contributing to interpretation of complex scientific data. Direct experience in conjugation chemistry, oligonucleotide synthesis, or related bioconjugation work is expected.
