Raven StealthCo is a well-funded, stealth-mode biotechnology company incubated by RA Capital, focused on next-generation oligonucleotide-based therapeutics targeting tissues beyond the liver, muscle, and kidney. The company is building a platform to deliver oligonucleotides with high precision to previously untargeted cells, focusing on "undruggable" genes with potential applications across multiple disease areas and healthy aging.
The Associate Scientist in In Vitro Pharmacology and Assay Development will join the discovery-stage team as a founding member of the scientific group, reporting to the Director of Biology and Pharmacology. This is a hands-on, lab-based role that bridges two critical capabilities: establishing a rigorous in vitro pharmacology engine and supporting externalized in vivo pharmacology studies through ex vivo analysis.
Key responsibilities include:
- Standing up the company's cell culture infrastructure from the ground up, including primary and stem-cell-derived cells, directed differentiation, and functional readouts
- Designing, developing, and running reproducible in vitro assays for oligonucleotides and conjugates, quantifying target engagement and pharmacodynamic effects using RT-qPCR, digital PCR, branched-DNA, and immunoassays
- Building an assay toolkit for hit profiling, including uptake, internalization, and trafficking assays for conjugate-mediated delivery
- Establishing tissue-processing techniques and ex vivo pharmacodynamic and efficacy analyses supporting in vivo studies
- Executing readouts on samples returning from CRO-run studies in partnership with the in vivo pharmacology lead
- Contributing to translational biomarker work as programs advance toward development
The role requires deep expertise in molecular biology, biochemistry, and -omics approaches. First-year priorities include standing up cell culture capabilities, bringing CRO-run cell-based screening in-house, and establishing tissue-processing and ex vivo readout protocols. The candidate will work closely with delivery, conjugation chemistry, and analytical colleagues in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.
