Salary: USD 115,000 - 125,000 / annual
BETA Technologies is revolutionizing electric aviation and seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their South Burlington, Vermont team. This role focuses on ground support equipment and spans multiple electrical engineering domains including high-voltage to low-voltage power conversion, PCBA design, low-voltage power distribution, instrumentation, and monitoring systems.
You will own the full lifecycle of circuit board and electrical system development—from conceptualization through production, certification, and field deployment. Key responsibilities include:
• Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to define project goals, budgets, and scope
• Developing system architectures and decomposing them into subassemblies, circuits, and board designs
• Designing products across multiple dimensions: cost, reliability, efficiency, and features
• Executing low-level circuit design through full-scale integrated system design and volume manufacturing
• Troubleshooting and reworking electrical equipment and PCBs
• Creating test and verification plans for product designs
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering plus 4 years of product design and/or production experience. You must have proven expertise in analog and power component selection, circuit design, simulation, and testing. Proficiency with Altium for schematic design, PCBA layout, and manufacturing is required. Additional must-haves: excellent documentation skills, working knowledge of communications protocols (CAN, SPI, I2C, MODBUS, TCP/IP, RS-485), DFMEA/FMEA analysis, hardware safety testing, and experience bringing products to compliance with standards like UL and CE.
Desirable qualifications include expertise in HV DC power conversion, electric vehicle charging standards (J1772, ISO 15118, DIN 760121, ISO 61851), a Master's degree in electrical engineering, 5+ years in EV charging/interface design, EMI/EMC design and testing experience, and strong communication and problem-solving skills.
