Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Radio Frequency Test Engineer to join the Electromagnetic Warfare Manufacturing team in Irvine, California. This role is responsible for ensuring cutting-edge defense hardware meets stringent quality standards while maintaining production throughput requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning test activities in production and ensuring smooth test flow, with hands-on troubleshooting of complex electrical issues
- Maintaining test capabilities across the manufacturing value stream, from system-level checkouts to component-level validation
- Improving and sustaining existing test systems to enhance automation, consistency, cycle time, and test coverage
- Creating clear test work instructions for technician teams and providing training on equipment use
- Developing libraries of common failure modes with troubleshooting guides for rapid issue resolution
- Performing root cause and corrective action analysis (RCCA) on product failures
- Collaborating with Design, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering teams on customer returns and failure analysis
- Contributing feedback to early-stage test design for new product introduction (NPI)
- Analyzing test data, documenting results, and providing detailed reports to identify defects and improvement areas
- Optimizing test strategies for efficiency without compromising quality
- Maintaining and calibrating test equipment to ensure precision and reliability
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics, Computer, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, plus 5+ years of relevant industry experience with emphasis on manufacturing test and product sustainment. Candidates must be familiar with Linux, Ubuntu, LabVIEW, and NixOS; have experience with PCBA/electronic assembly testing; and be proficient with electronics test equipment including power supplies, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and data acquisition systems. Strong root cause analysis skills, excellent communication abilities, and familiarity with PLM, MES, and TES systems are essential. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
