Salary: USD 145,000 - 170,000 / annual

Infleqtion is seeking a Quantum Software Engineer specializing in Quantum Error Correction (QEC) to design and optimize error-correcting codes for experimental quantum computing devices. This role bridges theoretical quantum information science with practical implementation on neutral atom platforms. Key responsibilities include: - Research and advance QEC theory, techniques, and implementation in experimental quantum computing devices - Develop and optimize QEC protocols tailored to gate-based quantum computing, with focus on neutral atom platforms - Build mathematical models and numerical simulations to analyze QEC protocol behavior and performance - Develop and implement custom QEC decoders - Identify and mitigate noise processes in quantum systems - Collaborate with experimental physicists and software engineers to translate theory into practice - Publish research findings in scientific journals and present at conferences - Mentor and support team members in a collaborative research environment - Stay current with cutting-edge QEC developments Required qualifications: - PhD in theoretical physics, mathematics, computer science, or quantum information science - 2+ years postdoctoral experience (or industry equivalent) in QEC - Experience tailoring error-correcting codes for quantum devices and bridging theory-experiment gaps - Strong scientific publication record - Proficiency in scientific computing - Excellent communication skills across organizational levels - Ability to thrive in fast-paced, collaborative, cross-functional environments - Quick learner of complex topics - Problem-solving expertise with productization experience - Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% Compensation includes $145,000–$170,000 annually, comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, vision, disability), employer-funded HSA, unlimited PTO, 401(k) match, equity package, and student loan repayment assistance.
