Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking a Quantum Software Engineer to join Anduril Labs, a multidisciplinary innovation team developing next-generation quantum solutions for defense and national security applications.
You will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and deploying quantum-enhanced solutions across Anduril's product lines and customer applications. Working closely with delivery leads, application developers, and solutions architects, you will translate complex defense challenges into hybrid quantum algorithms and applications. Your focus will be on practical scalability and real-world applicability, integrating quantum-enhanced solutions into existing and new defense systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the design, development, and deployment of novel quantum-enhanced applications and services in defense and national security
- Developing impactful hybrid quantum algorithms and applications that deliver significant decision advantages
- Contributing expertise in classical and quantum optimization algorithms, evaluating trade-offs, scaling behaviors, and cross-over points
- Participating in the full quantum software development lifecycle from concept through testing, deployment, and maintenance
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Quantum Information Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related technical field
- 3+ years of professional software development experience with C, C++, Python, or similar general-purpose languages
- Practical experience in quantum computing, including quantum application programming or circuit compilation
- Proficiency with quantum programming languages/SDKs (Qiskit, CUDA-Q, Q#, Cirq, PennyLane, or similar)
- Strong foundation in linear algebra, matrix decompositions, probability theory, group theory, and computational complexity
- Proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL) and SQL
- Experience with Git, build tools, and CI/CD pipelines
- Demonstrated software testing expertise (unit, integration, end-to-end testing)
- Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Top Secret SCI security clearance
- Hands-on experience with GenAI tools for software development and code generation
Preferred qualifications include Master's or Ph.D. in Quantum Information Science, Physics, or related field, and familiarity with classical optimization tools (CPLEX, Gurobi, OR-Tools).
