BlueQubit is Silicon Valley's first quantum algorithms lab focused on quantum applications research for both NISQ (Noisy Intermediate-Scale Quantum) and fault-tolerant quantum computing eras. The company's mission is to achieve true quantum advantage by enabling quantum computers to solve scientific and commercial problems beyond the reach of classical supercomputers.
As a Quantum Algorithms Researcher, you will design and test novel quantum algorithms on state-of-the-art quantum hardware with the goal of demonstrating scientifically and commercially relevant quantum advantage. You will develop and benchmark algorithms for problems where quantum computers can outperform the best available classical methods and supercomputing resources. Your work will involve collaborating with team members across shared research projects and codebases.
Required qualifications include a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field, plus at least five years of research experience with a strong publication record in quantum computing or closely related areas. You must be proficient in Python and/or C/C++, with hands-on experience using quantum computing frameworks and software tools. Experience running experiments on NISQ quantum hardware is essential.
Nice-to-have skills include experience with quantum error mitigation techniques, classical quantum simulation methods (tensor networks, MPS, PEPS), and applying artificial intelligence to scientific discovery.
This is an opportunity to work at the frontier of quantum algorithms research with a highly motivated team of researchers and engineers in San Francisco, with flexible remote and hybrid options available.
