Salary: USD 160,000 - 220,000 / annual
Noise is building a platform where curators and communities surface and value cultural trends globally. The company is a 10-person team based in SoHo, New York, focused on shipping delightful products through great taste and technical execution.
This Quantitative Developer role focuses on building and optimizing the core exchange infrastructure that powers Noise's trading platform. You will design and implement low-latency matching systems, order routing, market data pipelines, and risk management components. The role bridges traditional finance infrastructure with blockchain technology, requiring you to develop both off-chain systems in C++ and on-chain infrastructure using Solidity and EVM-compatible chains.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building and optimizing exchange infrastructure, matching systems, and low-latency trading components in C++
- Designing systems for order routing, market data, risk, margin, liquidation, clearing, and derivatives trading
- Developing and integrating on-chain infrastructure, including on-chain clearing and settlement, using Solidity, EVM-compatible chains, and Layer 2 systems
- Working closely with traders to translate real trading workflows and market structure needs into exchange features
- Improving performance, reliability, and observability across both off-chain and on-chain systems
This is an excellent opportunity for a senior engineer who understands both traditional exchange architecture and blockchain infrastructure, and who can think from a trader's perspective when designing systems.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong C++ or Rust fundamentals with experience in low-latency, high-performance, or trading systems
- Experience building or contributing to an exchange, trading platform, market maker, or similar financial infrastructure
- Familiarity with clearing and settlement workflows, particularly on-chain clearing for exchange systems
- Familiarity with Solidity, EVM architecture, smart contracts, Layer 2s, and blockchain engineering
- Passionate about trading and able to think from a trader's perspective when designing systems
