Anduril Industries is seeking a Quality Specialist to join the Product Quality Team supporting the Intelligence Systems division in Ashville, Ohio. The Intelligence Systems team focuses on positioning Anduril as a lead provider of specialized engineering and products for Intelligence Community customers, delivering critically needed capabilities that address national security requirements.
In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring, inspecting, and proposing measures to correct or improve incoming inspection processes and final product quality standards. You will manage the Materials Review Board (MRB) process, inspect non-conforming parts at Anduril's Santa Ana site and supplier sites, and partner with the Supplier Quality Engineering organization to support quality control efforts.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the site Materials Review Board (MRB) process and ensuring accurate data collection and entry
- Inspecting and verifying non-conforming parts at multiple sites
- Assisting in root cause analysis and dispositioning of non-conforming material
- Managing internal rework to support dispositions
- Performing First Article Inspection (FAI) verification on incoming material
- Managing quality containment processes for material, tooling, and inspection equipment
- Creating and executing inspection plans for incoming material, in-process, and end-of-line inspection
- Training technicians and inspectors on inspection procedures and data capture
- Proposing and implementing quality assurance policies and procedures
- Reviewing and proposing continuous improvement projects
- Conducting data and traceability investigations to identify trends and process variations
- Communicating process performance and quality issues to key stakeholders
- Executing vendor return material authorization (RMA) processes
This is a fast-paced role requiring strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. You will partner across the organization to prioritize process and product quality issues impacting inspection operations and efficiency.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate degree or equivalent in a related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in metrology inspection or quality role
- Experience with production support and quality management
- Proficiency with ERP/MES software and inspection data management software
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Experience with calibrated equipment (calipers, micrometers, CMM, Faro arm, OMM, etc.)
- Knowledge and understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings (wire diagrams, work instructions, CAD)
- Ability to analyze inspection results and provide feedback to production, manufacturing engineering, and quality engineering departments
- Experience using investigative equipment such as x-ray inspection, digital characterization, material certificate of compliance
- Experience in a facility with AS9100, ISO9001, IATF 16949 or similar QMS standards
- Experience with validation and testing of assemblies and their components
- Experience communicating with suppliers and cross-functional teams
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Technical or Associates degree in related quality/mechanical/aerospace engineering field
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Quality Improvement Associate, or equivalent; IPC-A-610 or IPC-A-620 Certification
- Knowledge of 6 Sigma, TQM, TPS, Lean, Low Rate Production
- Experience with inspection of Electrical and Electronic Components (Power Supplies, PCBs, wire-harnesses)
- Experience with auditing processes and procedures in a manufacturing environment
- Detail-oriented self-starter with minimal oversight and strong cross-functional communication abilities
