Anduril Industries, a defense technology company transforming military capabilities through advanced autonomy, AI, and sensor fusion, is seeking a Quality Manager to lead its Quality Engineering team in Lexington, Massachusetts (with relocation to Waltham planned). This is a leadership role overseeing manufacturing quality standards, Quality Management System (QMS) compliance, and cross-functional quality assurance protocols in a highly regulated aerospace/defense environment.
You will lead and mentor the Quality Engineering team, establishing performance standards and driving professional development. Key responsibilities include overseeing QMS compliance to AS9100 certification, establishing and monitoring KPIs for internal, supplier, and field product quality, and driving continuous improvement across product design, manufacturing processes, and supplier performance. You will develop data-driven approaches to evaluate and track quality issues, manage internal tracking systems for incoming materials and in-process manufacturing, and lead root cause investigations with corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) both internally and with suppliers.
Additional duties include overseeing raw material and incoming supplier inspection programs, directing Material Review Board (MRB) activities for quality escapes and defective material disposition, partnering with Purchasing to evaluate and manage supplier performance, and collaborating cross-functionally to define product roadmaps while ensuring incoming material inspections, process control plans, and end-of-line tests capture all quality requirements.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field, 7+ years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, or quality (with at least 2 years in a leadership/supervisory role), deep experience with OEM suppliers and complex hardware/software systems, and strong background in highly regulated aerospace/defense, automotive, or medical device environments. You must have proven experience managing ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 compliance, advanced knowledge of quality core tools (FMEA, RCCA/8D, APQP, PPAP, GD&T), hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical metrology, working knowledge of electro-mechanical design and manufacturing processes, and demonstrated project management capability.
