Salary: USD 195,000 - 215,000 / annual

Halo Industries, founded in 2014 at Stanford University, has developed breakthrough laser-based technology to revolutionize semiconductor wafer slicing. The company received significant funding in 2024 and is now scaling volume manufacturing across automotive, telecommunications, and power electronics markets. As Quality Engineering Manager, you will lead Halo's quality engineering function, bridging advanced material physics, high-volume production, and rigorous compliance. You will serve as the primary technical interface between Halo and tier-1 customers, ensuring manufacturing processes meet stringent tolerances for automotive, power, and industrial electronics applications. Key responsibilities include: **Customer Quality Strategy & Execution:** Act as the quality liaison to customers, translating production and qualification feedback into continuous improvement initiatives. Schedule, host, and manage comprehensive customer audits with emphasis on automotive deep-dives. Maintain integrity over Certificates of Analysis (COA) and Customer Specific Requirements (CSRs). Champion Product Change Notifications (PCNs) and Product Change Information Notes (PCIs) through customer approval workflows. Own the end-to-end RMA lifecycle, driving root-cause investigations and failure analysis. **QMS, Compliance & Scalability:** Optimize and scale the Arena QMS platform to sustain IATF 16949 compliance for automotive clients while maintaining agile pathways for non-automotive sectors. Enforce manufacturing readiness maturity frameworks and manage PPAP deliverables. Sustain data-driven control points for advanced manufacturing systems, owning baseline metrics for critical wafer geometry. Advance deployment of AIAG Core Tools (APQP, FMEA, MSA, SPC). Drive continuous improvement through 8D corrective actions, Kaizen events, and DMAIC projects. **Team Leadership:** Recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing quality engineering team. Establish KPIs, foster professional growth, and balance resource allocation across scaling production lines. **Requirements:** **Basic Qualifications:** - Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Solid State Physics, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical discipline - 8+ years of quality engineering experience in semiconductor, wafer manufacturing, or advanced electronics - 3+ years of formal management experience directly supervising quality engineering teams - Proven track record managing tier-1 customer quality interfaces - Deep working knowledge of ISO frameworks with track record of driving audit readiness **Preferred Qualifications:** - Hands-on experience configuring, optimizing, or administering Arena PLM and Arena QMS modules - Experience managing multiple compliance pipelines (industrial electronics and automotive) - Advanced proficiency in data-driven yield optimization tools (JMP, Minitab) and factory software systems (MES) - Technical expertise in wide-bandgap semiconductor materials and wafering processes
