Muon Space, an end-to-end space systems provider designing and manufacturing LEO satellite constellations, seeks an experienced Electrical Quality Engineer to join its San Jose, CA facility. This is a fully onsite role (5 days/week) focused on ensuring satellites and electrical hardware meet the highest aerospace manufacturing standards.
You will own quality assurance across the full product lifecycle: planning and executing inspections and testing of satellites, sub-assemblies, PCBAs, harnesses, and electrical components per IPC-A-610, IPC J-STD-001, and IPC/WHMA-A-620 Class 3 standards (including Space Addendums). You'll support environmental and functional testing (TVAC, vibration, EMI) and identify conformances and nonconformances.
Key responsibilities include leading nonconformance root-cause analysis and corrective action disposition, developing and maintaining nonconformance tracking systems, and collaborating with Supplier Quality Engineers on vendor investigations. You will help build and scale Muon's Quality Management System, writing internal specifications, workmanship standards, and work instructions while ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, and aerospace regulatory requirements.
You'll analyze inspection, testing, and audit data to identify quality trends and process improvement opportunities. Collaboration is central: you'll partner with electrical design, manufacturing, and test engineers to resolve quality issues and train team members on IPC criteria and quality systems. The role includes supplier audits (on-site and remote), with travel up to 40% to supplier sites for audits, First Article Inspections (FAIs), and corrective action support.
Muon manufactures spacecraft in a state-of-the-art Silicon Valley facility optimized for rapid, flexible payload integration at scale. The company serves climate monitoring, national security, and Earth intelligence missions.
