Harbinger Motors is an American commercial electric vehicle (EV) company transforming the medium-duty EV and hybrid market. We are seeking a Quality Engineer (Electrical) to ensure the quality of electrical architecture, control systems, and electronic components throughout their lifecycle. You will serve as a liaison between engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams, with broad responsibilities across electrical and electronic assemblies. Your work will involve collaborating with suppliers, product designers, and production teams to establish and maintain quality standards, troubleshoot complex electrical issues, and drive continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities: - Monitor electrical and electronic quality performance metrics, proactively identifying and escalating emerging high-impact issues using process, end-of-line test, and warranty data. - Drive timely root cause analysis and resolution using data-driven approaches (e.g., electrical noise, signal integrity loss, component failure, assembly defects). - Implement continuous improvement by driving lessons learned into electrical design and manufacturing processes. - Develop and track data-driven metrics for issue monitoring, electrical yields, and corrective action effectiveness. - Create innovative tools and processes to enhance efficiency, electrical test coverage, and scalability across production. - Develop electrical quality standards, quality control systems, and manufacturing and supplier quality protocols for electrical harnesses, power distribution units, controllers, and PCBAs. - Perform thorough inspection and testing (Hi-Pot testing, continuity, resistance, functional electrical testing) to ensure compliance with specifications. - Support assembly teams with electrical distribution units, high/low-voltage wiring harnesses, controllers, and electrical test equipment buyoff. - Formulate effective corrective actions and solutions for supplier, production, and product-related challenges specific to vehicle electrical systems. - Participate in design reviews (DFMEA/PFMEA) to mitigate manufacturing, wiring routing, grounding, and assembly risks. - Lead root cause analysis efforts (8D, 5-Why) for internal and external electrical and electronic products. - Lead Material Review Board (MRB) meetings and act as quality representative within the engineering change control board. Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, or related technical field. - 3 to 5 years of pertinent experience in manufacturing quality or supplier quality engineering involving automotive/EV electrical systems, wiring harnesses, PCBAs, power electronics, or equivalent products. - ASQ Certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Certified Quality Manager (CQM), Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, or higher (preferred). - Proficiency in ISO 9001:2018 or IATF 16949 standards (highly desired). - Familiarity with quality core tools including Quality Management Systems, Supplier and Internal Audits, APQP, SPC, GR&R, PPAP, FMEA (DFMEA/PFMEA), and Control Plans. - Strong analytical, electrical troubleshooting, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. - Excellent project management skills, capable of managing multiple projects concurrently. - Solid understanding of vehicle electrical architecture (CAN/LIN bus communication, high and low voltage distribution, grounding strategies, PCBAs, wire harness fabrication). - Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
