Harbinger Motors is an American commercial electric vehicle (EV) company developing a first-of-its-kind medium-duty EV and hybrid platform. The company brings together deep expertise in EV, battery, and drivetrain systems to transform the commercial vehicle industry. You will lead quality validation during vehicle commissioning, first-time bring-up, and End-of-Line (EOL) testing operations. Your core responsibilities include ensuring seamless integration and validation of all vehicle subsystems—high/low voltage power, powertrain, software, diagnostics, and functional safety systems—prior to customer delivery. Key responsibilities: - Monitor vehicle bring-up and EOL quality performance metrics, proactively identifying and escalating high-impact issues using diagnostic logs, test yield data, and defect trends. - Drive root cause analysis and resolution for complex bring-up failures, software flashing errors, calibration faults, and test aborts through cross-functional collaboration with software, electrical, and manufacturing teams. - Implement continuous improvement by feeding bring-up and EOL test insights back into upstream design, software release, and assembly processes. - Develop and track data-driven metrics for EOL test cycle times, first-time-through (FTT) yield, test coverage, and corrective action effectiveness. - Create innovative tools, diagnostic scripts, and standardized processes to enhance bring-up efficiency, test automation, and scalability. - Develop vehicle bring-up quality protocols, EOL test specifications, dynamic testing routines (chassis dyno, rolling road, track testing), and quality control gates. - Oversee thorough testing and validation of complete vehicle systems including software flashing, ECU calibration, CAN/LIN bus diagnostics, Hi-Pot safety tests, ADAS/sensor calibration, and functional safety checks. - Support factory commissioning teams with buy-off and validation of EOL test equipment, diagnostic tools, automated test benches, and software flashing infrastructure. - Formulate corrective actions and process enhancements for integration, software release, and testing-related challenges on the production floor. - Participate in design and process reviews (DFMEA/PFMEA) alongside software, electrical, and manufacturing engineering teams. - Lead root cause analysis efforts (8D, 5-Why) for bring-up non-conformances, DTCs, and system integration bugs. - Lead MRB (Material Review Board) disposition for non-conforming vehicles and act as quality representative within the engineering change control board. You are a hands-on engineer who thrives in dynamic production environments and loves solving complex system-level problems. You have a strong bias for action and continuous improvement, and are energetic and passionate about vehicle quality and zero-defect delivery. Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related technical field. - 3 to 5 years of pertinent experience in vehicle bring-up, End-of-Line (EOL) testing, commissioning, or manufacturing quality engineering within automotive, EV/e-mobility, commercial vehicle, or aerospace industries. - Deep experience with vehicle diagnostic protocols (UDS, OBD-II), CAN/CAN-FD/LIN bus tools (e.g., Vector CANoe/CANalyzer, PCAN), software flashing, ECU calibration, and automated test environments. - ASQ Certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Certified Quality Manager (CQM), Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, or higher preferred. - Proficiency in ISO 9001:2018 or IATF 16949 standards highly desired. - Familiarity with quality core tools including Quality Management Systems, APQP, SPC, GR&R, PPAP, FMEA (DFMEA/PFMEA), Control Plans, and Functional Safety (ISO 26262) principles. - Strong analytical, system-level troubleshooting, verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. - Excellent project management skills, capable of managing multiple commissioning and testing projects concurrently. - Solid understanding of EV powertrain integration, battery systems, vehicle control units (VCU), thermal management routines, chassis dynos, and factory test cell infrastructure. - Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
