Adverity is seeking a Quality Engineer to own quality signals for a product pod, combining technical testing expertise with curiosity about how software fails. You will work as a peer alongside product engineers and PMs, building systems and tests that enable the team to ship fast without shipping broken things.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and maintain automated test coverage across unit, integration, and end-to-end tests as part of the shared codebase
- Build and maintain tooling for fast, reliable feedback including CI pipelines, test environments, synthetic data, and monitoring hooks
- Identify gaps in test coverage before they become incidents and make data-driven cases for closing them
- Surface risk clearly to enable confident shipping decisions
- Bring user perspective into planning conversations, flagging edge cases and failure modes early
- Lead root-cause analysis on production issues within the pod's quality domain, focusing on systemic fixes
- Track quality trends (flakiness, escaped defects, time-to-detect) and feed into prioritization
- Pair with engineers on testing strategy to spread testing skills across the pod
- Build features and fix bugs alongside the team
This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Sofia with an expectation to be in the office three times per week.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a quality or test engineering role on a product engineering team, or equivalent software engineering experience with strong testing focus
- Track record of building automated test coverage in production codebases
- Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines and test infrastructure (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI)
- Experience leading or contributing to root-cause analysis on production incidents
- Solid coding ability in Python, strong enough to write production code rather than just test scripts
- Ability to design test strategy for features from scratch, knowing what to automate versus explore manually
- Working knowledge of testing types relevant to the product (API, load/performance, data pipeline testing)
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (Datadog, Grafana) to build signal into dashboards
