The QA Engineer II role is a senior individual contributor position responsible for leading and executing both manual and automated testing activities to ensure delivery of high-quality, scalable, and reliable software products. This role involves greater ownership of test planning, design, and execution, along with mentoring junior QA engineers and contributing to continuous improvement of testing frameworks and practices.
Key responsibilities include:
- Defining and developing functional test scenarios, regression tests, negative test cases, and usability tests
- Participating in the design and development of test automation frameworks and solutions across the entire stack
- Working with Product, Design, and Engineering teams on requirements gathering and evaluation
- Establishing goals for manual testing and automation for new and existing features
- Participating in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, test estimates, schedules, and potential risks
- Actively utilizing Claude Code in daily engineering workflows to accelerate test authoring, debug pipeline failures, and streamline test framework maintenance
- Contributing to AI-assisted testing capabilities by leveraging custom AI commands, optimizing prompts, and sharing efficient workflows across the team
- Utilizing generative AI and LLMs to author test cases, write automated testing scripts, and optimize test infrastructure to increase test coverage
- Being a vocal champion for quality in every phase of the development process
- Working with the Customer Success team on investigating customer-facing issues and driving issues to closure
- Performing production post-deployment validations and coordinating deployment of hotfixes
- Demonstrating proactive ownership, promoting a solution-oriented mindset, and fostering resilience, collaboration, and knowledge sharing across the QA department
