Global Technology Services, a rapidly expanding software development and IT services firm based in Medellín, Colombia, is seeking a Senior QA Engineer (Automation) to join their client delivery team. The company serves the entertainment, financial, and logistics sectors with a distributed workforce across Latin America, the Philippines, and the United States.
In this role, you will drive the modernization of quality engineering practices through robust test automation and continuous quality improvement. You will take full ownership of testing activities across the software development lifecycle, working independently with expansive engineering teams. This is a hands-on technical position focused entirely on automation—not manual testing.
Key responsibilities include building and maintaining automation frameworks for modern web applications and APIs, integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, developing risk-based testing strategies, and clearly articulating testing approaches to stakeholders. You will work with cutting-edge technologies and modern rendering architectures while ensuring accessibility compliance and performance optimization.
Required qualifications: 5+ years of professional QA/automation experience with proven delivery of production-grade automated testing solutions. Strong JavaScript/TypeScript development skills with the ability to write production-quality test code and debug application logic. Hands-on expertise with Playwright (or Cypress), Jest/Vitest, and React Testing Library. Deep understanding of REST and GraphQL APIs, API contract testing, and modern web application testing patterns. Experience with accessibility testing (WCAG 2.2 AA, axe-core), visual regression testing (Storybook, Chromatic, or Percy), and CI/CD integration (GitHub Actions or equivalent). Familiarity with performance testing tools (k6), API testing platforms (Postman, Insomnia, Bruno), and testing personalization/feature variants. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent debugging mindset and ability to communicate technical risks to both technical and non-technical audiences.
