Runway is seeking a QA Engineer to ensure high quality and reliability across its AI-powered creative suite. The role involves testing cutting-edge AI video generation features, collaborating with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to identify risks and edge cases, and building automated end-to-end test coverage for web and mobile applications.
Key responsibilities include owning quality for assigned product areas from development through launch, writing and maintaining automated tests for web and mobile apps, and leveraging AI agents to investigate code, triage bugs, and explore product functionality. You'll compose detailed test cases, maintain the test case library, partner with external third-party testers to scope coverage and triage issues, and test beyond the UI including mobile apps, public APIs, and developer-facing surfaces.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with automated end-to-end testing, strong QA best practices including risk-based prioritization and test planning, and an AI-first mindset. You should be comfortable working async, maintaining visible work, and have strong empathy for users of creative products. Experience with prominent AI audio, image, and video generation technologies is valuable. The role requires testing complex modern web and mobile applications, debugging test failures, collaborating through git and code review, and writing clear, actionable bug reports under fast release cycles. You'll be self-directed, a fast learner, and eager to teach others.
