Hyperbound is building an AI Agent platform for sales teams—a Revenue Activation Platform that helps untangle complex deal workflows. The company emerged from YC S23, raised a $15M Series A in October 2025, and is growing 20% month-over-month, trusted by companies like LinkedIn, Amazon, Notion, and Vanta.
You'll work alongside the Founding QA Engineer to ensure quality as Hyperbound ships new features weekly. You'll independently own quality for assigned features and product areas, from writing test plans and running user acceptance testing to building automation and verifying fixes. You'll partner closely with product, engineering, and Solutions Engineers to catch issues early and improve testing processes as the company scales.
Your responsibilities include:
- Test planning: Partner with Product and Engineering to understand upcoming features, identify risks and edge cases, and define appropriate coverage levels before release.
- Release testing: Run functional, exploratory, user acceptance, and regression testing across connected workflows, providing clear assessments of release readiness and remaining risk.
- Technical investigation: Use browser developer tools, APIs, logs, and other signals to isolate issues and provide engineers with actionable findings.
- Automation: Build and maintain reliable automated tests across critical workflows, converting repeated manual checks into scalable regression coverage.
- Customer bug triage: Work with Solutions Engineers to reproduce customer-reported issues, determine scope and impact, and drive fixes through verification.
- Regression prevention: Add automated checks, verify fixes, and expand coverage to prevent recurring issues.
- Process improvement: Collaborate with the Founding QA Engineer to strengthen testing standards, improve tooling, and evolve how QA integrates into the fast release cycle.
The role emphasizes technical depth, product judgment, ownership, conviction, and collaboration. You'll investigate and reproduce bugs clearly, build reliable automated tests, think about real customer usage patterns, take testing from planning through release, push back when something isn't ready to ship, and work closely with the founding QA engineer to improve coverage and processes.
This is not a manual-testing-only role, nor one where you wait for finished features with a checklist. You'll help shape test plans and raise risks before release, and you'll work alongside (not solo) the Founding QA Engineer while taking independent ownership.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of software quality engineering experience testing modern web applications or SaaS products
- Strong ability to independently design and execute test strategies rather than relying only on predefined test cases
- Experience building and maintaining automated test suites using tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar frameworks
- Strong understanding of API testing and experience validating interactions between frontend, backend, and third-party systems
- Ability to investigate complex bugs using browser developer tools, logs, API requests, application behavior, and other technical evidence
- Experience writing clear, actionable bug reports and communicating quality risks to engineers and product stakeholders
- Working understanding of CI/CD pipelines and how automated tests fit into development and release workflows
- Strong product judgment: understanding how customers use a product and prioritizing testing based on risk and impact
- Ability to manage multiple projects, releases, and customer issues in a fast-moving environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High ownership and comfort operating with ambiguity
HIGHLY PREFERRED:
- Experience testing AI or LLM products, where outputs can vary and quality isn't always a simple pass or fail
- Experience working in an early-stage startup or another environment with rapid product releases
