Okta is seeking a QA Automation Engineer to join the Professional Services R&D team, a newly formed group focused on building reusable, scalable assets and tools that empower delivery teams and partners. This role is critical to ensuring the quality and reliability of tools that directly impact customer success and accelerate time-to-value with Okta's platform.
You will design, develop, and maintain scalable automated testing frameworks covering UI, API, and performance testing. Your responsibilities include writing and executing comprehensive test cases, integrating automated testing into the CI/CD pipeline to enable continuous delivery, and working closely with developers and product managers to identify quality issues early in the development lifecycle. You will define the team's QA strategy, including test planning, execution, and reporting, while triaging and tracking defects to ensure timely resolution.
The role emphasizes embedding a "quality-first" mindset within the team and championing quality engineering best practices across the R&D organization. You will be a guardian of quality for reusable assets that field teams and partners depend on.
Required qualifications include 3+ years of QA Automation or SDET experience, strong programming skills in Python, Java, or JavaScript, and hands-on experience with modern test automation frameworks such as Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, Postman, or Jest. You should have experience testing both APIs (REST, GraphQL) and web front-ends, solid understanding of CI/CD principles with experience integrating tests into pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI), and familiarity with Agile methodologies. A meticulous eye for detail and passion for building high-quality software are essential.
